Reverse Engineering — From Broken Part to Working Part
Legacy part gone? Supplier out of business? We rebuild it from measurements, scans, or even photos — then manufacture it. Upload what you have and get a real price in minutes.

The most common requests we see:
- Legacy machine parts for equipment still running on the plant floor
- Broken components rebuilt from the surviving half or fragments
- Obsolete spares where the OEM wants more than the machine is worth
- Cast or welded parts that need to move to machined or laser-cut manufacture
- Parts with no drawing at all — rebuilt from physical measurement
How It Works
- 1. Upload: Photos with a coin or ruler for scale, plus any dimensions you have
- 2. We model: Geometry is captured and turned into CAD (STEP/DXF)
- 3. You approve: A drawing or 3D model is confirmed before anything is cut
- 4. We build: Laser cut, machined, welded, or full assembly — one quote
You end up with the replacement part AND a CAD model for the next time you need it.
What Reverse Engineering Costs
Modeling is priced by complexity — typically $75–$250 for a simple bracket to $500+ for a complex casting. You approve the modeling cost before we spend a minute of machine time. Manufacturing is then quoted normally from the new model.
Why It Beats Chasing the OEM
No minimum order, no 14-week lead time, no 'sorry, discontinued.' Most legacy parts ship within days to a couple of weeks — and the CAD file is yours to keep.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you reverse engineer from photos alone?
Yes — photos with a coin or ruler for scale are often enough for a bracket or simple part. For complex geometry we may ask for caliper measurements on a few key dimensions.
What if I only have a broken piece?
Send it (or good photos of all fragments). We reconstruct the original geometry and confirm with you before cutting.
Do I own the CAD model?
Yes — the STEP/DXF file is yours. That's the whole point: the next time you need the part, it's a 2-minute upload.
Can you improve the design while you're at it?
Often yes — thicker gussets, better material, welded instead of cast. Tell us the failure mode and we'll quote an improved version.
Part No Longer Available?
Send photos and any dimensions you have — we'll model it, quote it, and build it.
